Plane crash in São Paulo claims the life of lawyer, owner of the aircraft and pilot

Márcio Louzada Carpena purchased the aircraft in December and celebrated the achievement on social media.

The small plane that crashed on Friday morning, the 7th, in São Paulo, killed two people: lawyer Márcio Louzada Carpena , owner of the plane, and the pilot,  Gustavo Medeiros . The bodies were found charred, one in the front and the other in the back of the plane.

 

They left São Paulo bound for Porto Alegre/RS. The crash happened at 7:18 am in Barra Funda, West Zone of SP, near a bus on Avenida Marquês de São Vicente. The accident also left six people injured on the ground.

Márcio Carpena was 49 years old and registered with the OAB in Rio Grande do Sul. He also had supplementary registrations in AM, BA, DF, MS, PE, PR, RJ, SC and SE. He had a bachelor's and master's degree in Law from PUC/RS, where he also taught.  He  was the owner of the law firm Carpena Advogados, specialized in Business Law, headquartered in Porto Alegre. 

 

Gustavo Medeiros was born in Indaiatuba, in the interior of São Paulo. He had worked at Azul for ten years and worked as a private pilot. He graduated from PUC/RS in aeronautical sciences.

The accident

 

The twin-engine King Air F90 aircraft, with capacity for eight people, took off with Carpena and the pilot in the morning from Campo de Marte Airport, in the North Zone. The airport reported that the control tower lost contact with the aircraft at 7:16 a.m., minutes after takeoff.

Moments before the accident in Barra Funda this Friday, Carpena published images of the plane and highlighted the next trip: from São Paulo, at Campo de Marte, bound for Porto Alegre.

Aircraft

 

According to records at ANAC, the plane, registration PS-FEM, was purchased on December 11 by Máxima Inteligência Operações Estruturadas e Empreendimentos. The Porto Alegre-based company was opened in 2009 for "business management consulting activities" and has  Márcio Louzada Carpena and  Maria da Graça Paz Louzada, the lawyer's mother, as its shareholders.

 

The record indicates that the aircraft was in a normal airworthiness condition, with no recorded encumbrances.

 

Carpena celebrated the purchase of the plane on social media, and posted photos of himself and his family before they boarded the plane to Uruguay.

The OAB/RS deeply regrets the death of Rio Grande do Sul lawyer Márcio Louzada Carpena, 49 years old, which occurred on Friday morning (7) after the crash of a small plane in São Paulo. At this time of grief, the president of the Rio Grande do Sul Bar Association, Leonardo Lamachia, expressed his most sincere condolences to Carpenas loved ones, friends, students and colleagues. It is with great sadness that I receive the news of the death of my colleague Márcio Carpena, who had a great career in the legal profession. On behalf of the Rio Grande do Sul bar association, we express our solidarity with his family, friends and other colleagues at this time of consternation.
