The investigation investigates an attempted coup d'état and the abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law.

This Thursday, the 8th, the Federal Police launched Operation Tempus Veritatis to investigate a criminal organization that acted in the attempted coup d'état and abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law, to obtain a political advantage with the maintenance of the former President of the Republic. , Jair Bolsonaro, in power.

 

According to G1, the targets of the action are:

 

General Braga , former Minister of Defense and Civil House;

General Augusto , former head of the Institutional Security Office (GSI);

General Paulo  Nogueira, former Minister of Defense;

General  Cals  Gaspar de Oliveira, former head of the Army's Land Operations Command;

Admiral Garnier Santos, former commander-general of the Navy;

Anderson Torres, PF delegate and former Minister of Justice;

Valdemar Costa Neto, president of PL, Bolsonaro's party;

Tercio , former advisor to Bolsonaro, known as one of the pillars of the so-called “hate office”.

 Barros, retired Army colonel.

Also according to G1, the following are the targets of arrest warrants:

 

Filipe Martins, former special advisor to Bolsonaro;

Marcelo Câmara, Army colonel and former special advisor to Bolsonaro;

Army Colonel Bernardo  Correa Neto;

Major Rafael Martins de Oliveira.

According to journalist Bergamo, from Folha de S. Paulo, Bolsonaro was also the target of the operation. The PF went to his house, in  dos Reis, and seized the cell phone of one of his advisors, Tercio Arnaud 

 

He also ordered Bolsonaro to hand over his passport. As the document was not at the residence, the police gave him 24 hours to deliver it.

 

33 search and seizure warrants, four preventive arrest warrants and 48 precautionary measures other than prison are being carried out, which include the prohibition of maintaining contact with the others being investigated, the prohibition of leaving the country, with the delivery of passports within 24 hours and suspension from the exercise of public functions.

 

Federal Police comply with judicial measures issued by the STF in the States of Amazonas, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso do Sul,  Santo, Paraná, and the Federal District.

At this stage, the investigations indicate that the group investigated was divided into action groups to disseminate the occurrence of fraud in the 2022 presidential elections, even before the election took place, in order to enable and legitimize a military intervention, in a digital militia dynamic. .

 

The first axis consisted of the construction and propagation of the version of fraud in the 2022 elections, through the fallacious dissemination of vulnerabilities in the electronic voting system, a speech reiterated by those investigated since 2019 and which persisted even after the results of the second round of the election in 2022 .

 

The second axis of action consisted of carrying out acts to support the abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law, through a coup d'état, with the support of military personnel with the knowledge and tactics of special forces in a politically sensitive environment.

 

The Brazilian Army monitors the fulfillment of some warrants, in support of the Federal Police.

 

The facts investigated constitute, in theory, the crimes of criminal organization, violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law and coup d'état.
