To comment on the electoral results of the 2nd round of the elections, which took place this Sunday, 30, which consecrated the return of former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) to the Planalto Palace, Jornal da Manhã, from Jovem Pan News, interviewed the federal deputy and leader of the current government in the Chamber of Deputies, Ricardo Barros (Progressistas). The ally of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) evaluated that the decisions of the president of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), Alexandre de Moraes, and the dissemination of electoral polls benefited the PT campaign and led to the victory of the former president: “A divided country, a country with two different projects to choose from. So a lot of work for whoever won, to reunite the country. Former President Lula must give a big thank you to Minister Alexandre de Moraes and the Electoral Justice, who greatly favored him in the campaign. The wrong polls also greatly favored him in the campaign. When the poll is technical and serious, it gets it right, when it intends to influence the voter in a different way by order of its contractor or because of the institute's malpractice, it errs, it is not punished for it but it influences the outcome of the election”.
“Our research shows that 3% of voters vote for who will win, so this election, which was decided by 1%, was really influenced by massive disclosure of misleading poll results. But, it's democracy. Let's go. The country will adapt to this new moment. We have a project that will be presented to the National Congress and will be appreciated, as far as possible, to be implemented. The possibility of the new government of ex-president Lula is to repeat the same line that has always been the hallmark of his government, the attention to corporations and the issue of unions. And Congress will appreciate whether or not this is good for Brazil,” he analyzed.
The government leader in the Chamber did not give details on what President Bolsonaro’s next steps should look like and lamented the candidate’s defeat: “I spoke yesterday with the president just to show solidarity with him, to make myself available. I did not address these issues in his statement, or any other measures he may take. I believe that the reaction, in general, of the population is one of disappointment on the part of Bolsonaristas. We had a very favorable economic scenario for Brazil, inflation was lower than the United States and Europe, economic growth was higher than the United States and Europe and the lowest unemployment rate in recent years. Despite the pandemic and the war, Minister Paulo Guedes conducted our economy very well. Obviously, at a time of difficulty.”
