The Special Secretariat for Strategic Affairs of the Presidency of the Republic (SAE/PR) coordinates the “Institutional and Commercial Mission to Arab and Eastern European Countries”, which takes place from May 18 to June 7. The trip is the result of a partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, and Apex-Brasil.
The mission intends to prospect business and investment opportunities in eleven countries: Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Hungary, Iraq, Kuwait, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, and the Czech Republic. Among the main objectives of the mission, the following stand out: maintaining contacts with counterparts in the agribusiness, civil construction, and defense products sectors; and presenting options for partnerships between Brazilian businessmen and businesspeople from selected countries with a view to joint commercial action.
In the opinion of Secretary Flávio Rocha, the Mission reflects the commitment of the President of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro, to attracting foreign investment, boosting economic growth, and reaffirming Brazil's leading role in the world market.
The delegation is made up of about 60 members. From the public sector, the official delegation comprises representatives of the following institutions: SAE-PR, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Economy, Apex-Brasil, Chamber of Deputies, and Embratur. In the private sector, there are representatives from the sectors of engineering, chemical industry, defense materials, raw materials for fertilizers, and technology, among others.
The roadmap includes meetings with government representatives, confederations, businesspeople from selected sectors, and authorities in the areas of finance and investments
