This Tuesday (26/04), the 23rd March to Brasília in Defense of Municipalities took place. The event takes place annually and brings together mayors, deputy mayors, councilors and secretaries to debate public policies that impact the lives of the population. Municipal managers also present their priority agenda to the Executive, Legislative and Judiciary powers. In addition, the event was also attended by the President of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro.
The Federal Government has taken measures that reflect improvements for the population, such as the expansion of the internet in schools, implementation of civic-military colleges, the Economic Freedom Act, the new proof of life for the elderly, the reduction of tolls with the entry of new contracts into force, among others.
The theme of this edition of the march is “Municipality: the path to a better Brazil”. Until Thursday (28/04) topics such as post-Covid-19 health crisis health, mobility, social assistance and national agricultural policy, tax reform, municipal pension reform, law of improbity and bidding and the Regulatory Framework for Sanitation will be discussed. .
A Federal Government stand was set up on site, with representatives from ministries and secretariats involved with the municipal agenda, to serve the mayors. The space is coordinated by the Government Secretariat. During the event, the Secretariat presents the Federative School platform to participants, which brings together free improvement and training courses aimed at public servants and political agents in Brazilian municipalities.
The Federative School provides educational content from partner institutions to help the registered manager to plan, formulate and implement public policies.
Civil Defense Training
To guide municipal managers, the Ministry of Regional Development released an informative material on protection and civil defense during the March to Brasília in Defense of Municipalities, on Monday (25/04). One of them is a folder with guidelines on the functioning of the Integrated Disaster Information System (S2iD), a digital platform used to prepare contingency plans, record disasters that have occurred, request federal recognition of an emergency situation or state of public calamity and request federal resources.
The folder also provides information on distance courses of the National Civil Defense to provide guidance on the use of the Integrated Disaster Information System. And on a bank of good practices in civil defense and protection with solutions of simple implementation and low cost.
The second material launched at the march is a supplementary leaflet with information on requests for recognition of an emergency situation and federal resources from the Integrated Disaster Information System. Codes that give access to explanatory videos and questions on the subject are printed on it.
