Revitalization project will benefit more than 860 families in Paraná
Among the services provided are urban infrastructure, housing construction and land regularization.
A total of 869 families in the municipalities of Curitiba and São José dos Pinhais, in Paraná, will benefit from the Federal Government's Pró-Moradia program for favela revitalization. The announcement of the selected proposals was made by the minister of Regional Development, Rogério Marinho, this Friday (2), in the capital of Paraná and are part of the Casa Verde e Amarela program.
Up to R$ 59.8 million can be financed by the two municipalities, in resources from the Guarantee Fund for Time of Service (FGTS), for the revitalization of the communities.
“This project is very important, it should cover the entire national territory. We are even encouraging the city halls of Paraná to follow the example of both Curitiba and São José dos Pinhais, so that they can do not only land title regularization, but I would say, concertation of degraded regions that exist in all Brazilian cities,” said minister Rogério Marinho.
Among the services provided for in the proposals are urban infrastructure, housing construction and land regularization. For Vila Ferrovia and Vila Palmeiras, in Curitiba, the improvement of the urban infrastructure necessary to complete the land tenure regularization is contemplated. For the Jardim Modelo community, in São José dos Pinhais, resources will be allocated to resettlement and flood containment works.
"These are regions that need investments in their infrastructure, notably in the area of channeling streams, proper treatment of rainwater, sanitary sewage, housing reforms, even housing construction, in addition to land regularization. So, it is an intervention, I would say, with a more holistic view, very important to recover degraded areas, at the same time rebuilding the spatial scenario of cities”, completed the minister.
Pro-housing
The Federal Government's program is part of Casa Verde e Amarela, and supports states and municipalities, through financing with FGTS resources, in the execution of projects and actions for urbanization and regularization of precarious settlements. The area must have been occupied for more than five years, predominantly by families with a monthly income of up to 3 minimum wages.
The Ministry of Regional Development is receiving proposals in the Urbanization and Regularization of Precarious Settlements (UAP) category, which aim to improve housing conditions in slums, stilt houses, informal subdivisions, tenements and run-down housing complexes.
The projects must enable interventions that solve, in an integrated manner, the set of precariousness diagnosed in a given area, such as: land and urban irregularity, lack of basic infrastructure, occupation of areas subject to flooding, landslides or other types of risk, high levels of density of settlements and buildings, precariousness of housing and insufficiency of public services and equipment.
